Creating a safe therapeutic space where the most authentic self is free to emerge serves as the focus of our work together. Bringing awareness to the persistent negative self-assessments of the “inner critic” is an initial step in the journey of self-discovery. With encouragement each client examines their core beliefs about themselves and the dynamic structure of their self-concepts. We explore how and when those beliefs came into being and evaluate if they serve health and joy today. We assess how those same core beliefs influence behavior and affect the quality of the client’s relationships with self, with others, and with the world around them. I utilize many therapeutic tools and techniques including dream analysis in support of the client’s fullest experience of their healthiest self.

Over the course of my practice I have worked with many adolescent, adult and couple clients. When working with adolescents I invite parents to participate in sessions as appropriate so that behavioral gains and changes are embraced and understood collectively as a family. I have experience and interest in working with a wide array of issues and lifestyles. I began training and working as a psychotherapist in 1987 and became fully licensed in 1993. I am a member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
