About Jenifer Burkett
I sit with my client and together we create a safe energetic container
where the possibility for the most authentic part of themselves can emerge.
We look at the “inner critic” and it's list of negative assessments
that rob us of joy. I help the client look at increasing their capacity
for self regulation and self approval. I encourage each client to examine
their beliefs about themselves and determine if their beliefs are bringing
them joy or unhappiness. I ask the client to ask themselves are they
reacting to situations and relationships in the present as if they were
in their childhood. I help each client maximize the healthiest part of
themselves. I often work with the client in dream analysis. A lot of
information can be useful from our dream state.
I work with adolescent age clients (13+) as well as adults. When I work with adolescents I invite the parents to come to sessions when appropriate so the whole family is on the same page and functioning smoothly. I work with a whole range of issues and lifestyles. I have been working as a psychotherapist since 1987 and have been licensed since 1993.
