About Bruce Hiner
We are always trying to cope with and adapt to the many challenges of life
in the best way we know how. However, sometimes our coping strategies,
emotions and thoughts hamper our ability to effectively rise to these challenges.
I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative, and brief
psychodynamic psychotherapy. I provide a caring environment to enable
the exploration of emotions and thoughts arising from current and past
difficulties, to explore past coping strategies, and to learn and develop
new coping strategies that enable clients to live healthier, fuller lives.
Through sand tray, play, and art therapy, children and younger adolescents who struggle to verbalize their feelings and thoughts develop their ability to identify and manage their emotions which allows them to communicate and process their feelings and thoughts more fully. I also use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative, and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy with these clients.
Parenting is a very demanding and crucial job. Through the use of Positive Parenting with a Plan, I have assisted families in meeting the needs of their children and the challenges of parenting.
